IRON PASTE

DESCRIPTION

A  multi-purpose  compound  that  is  ideal  for  sealing  soil  pipe  joints,  repairing  cracks  or  leaks,  and  in  joining  similar  or  dissimilar  materials  together.   IRON  PASTE  is  a  ready-to -use  formula  and  can  be  used  directly  from  the  can.   It  goes  on  like  putty  and  hardens  like  steel.   After  hardening  it  can  be  filed,  drilled,  sanded  and  even  painted.   It  will  not  shrink  or  crack  even  years  later.

IRON  PASTE  can  be  used  on  pipe,  sinks,  boilers,  radiators,  bathroom  fixtures,  valves,  tile,  drain  gutters,  automobile  bumpers  and  bodies,  boats,  appliances  and  much  more.   It  adheres  to  tile,  glass,  porcelain,  vitreous  china  and  all  metals.   IRON  PASTE  withstands  temperatures  up  to  400°F  and  also  withstands  pressure  up  to  60  lbs.  on  water,  oil,  steam  or  gas  lines.

DIRECTIONS

IRON  PASTE  sets  quickly  so  work  accordingly.   Keep  cover  tightly  on  can  when  not  in  use.   For  best  results,  stir  before  using  and  wipe  surface  clean  before  using.

1. FOR  SOIL  PIPE  JOINTS  -  pack  joint  with  alternating  layers  of  oakum  and  thin  layers  (1/8 inch)  of  IRON  PASTE  to  within  1/4  inch  of  top  bell.   Pack  top  ¼  inch  solidly  with  IRON  PASTE  and  smooth  off  even  with  beli  flange.  Allow  IRON  PASTE  to  harden  thoroughly before using  pipe.

2. FOR  CRACKS  OR  LEAKS-  pack  IRON  PASTE  into  cracks  using  putty  knife,  fingers or other  tools  and   allow  to  harden.  (For  larger cracks  fill  with  steel  wool  or  tin  first  and  then  apply  IRON  PASTE.)  IRON PASTE  may  be  sanded  and  painted  when  dry.

3. FOR  NEW  OR  BROKEN  PARTS  -  spread  thin  layer  of  IRON  PASTE  on  both  surfaces   to be  joined.  Hold  together  until  partially  dry.   Set  aside  and  allow  to  dry  overnight.   Sand  surface  and  paint  if  desired.

WARNING

This  product  contains  ethyl  acetate  and  isopropyl  alcohol.   Avoid  prolonged  contact  with  skin.   Avoid  prolonged  breathing  of  vapors.  Use  with  adequate  ventilation.   Do  not  use  near  heat,  sparks  or  flame.

FIRST  AID

Eyes  -  flush  with  plenty  of  water  for  15  minutes.   Get  medical  attention.  Skin  -  flush  thoroughly  with  water.   If  irritation  persists,  get  medical  attention.  Internal  -  if  swallowed,  do  not  induce  vomiting.   Call  doctor  immediately.   Keep  out  of  reach  of  children.
